What are Aura Layers?

There are seven layers of the human aura, corresponding to each major chakra within the body. To fully comprehend this, it is a good idea to have a firm understanding of the seven major Chakras within the body. The colours described below do not always match with the associated chakra; this is because the colours listed below are the basic colours, and they blend in together to form many other hues within the aura. So for example, Red is the primary colour for the Ether layer of the aura, but that aura may be perceived as a completely different colour, such as blue.

Ether is the first layer, and its primary colour is red and emanates from the Root Chakra. It is about two inches thick from the skin, and it depicts all sensations of pleasure and pain.

Emotions is the second, and its primary colour is orange and emanates from the Sacral Chakra. It extends about two to four inches from the skin, and appears as multi-coloured rainbow clouds emanating from the body. It depicts the emotional state and feelings.

Mental is the third layer and its primary colour is yellow and emanates from the Solar Plexus Chakra. It extends four to eight inches from the skin and is usually appears yellow. It depicts mental clarity and thoughts.

Astral is the fourth layer, its primary colour is green and emanates from the Heart Chakra. It extends about 12 inches from the skin and appears as multi coloured clouds. This aura connects the physical world to the astral world.

Etheric Template is the fifth layer and its primary colour light blue in colour and emanates from the Throat Chakra. It emanates 12 - 24 inches from the skin and is usually seen as a blue outline. This is what the etheric aura fits into, so the template acts as an anchor securing the etheric aura for the etheric plane.

Celestial is the sixth layer and its primary colour purple in colour and emanates from the Third Eye Chakra. It extends 24 inches or more from the skin and appears as bright shimmering lights. It depicts communication with the spiritual plane.

Ketheric is the seventh layer of the aura and its primary colour is violet or white in colour and emanates from the Crown Chakra. It extends about fifty inches from the skin and appears as a golden pulsing light which surrounds and protects the body.

A Note On Aura Layers

Don't worry too much about aura layers when you are just starting out; just practice on seeing them and enjoying them. As you get better at viewing the aura you will begin seeing more and more depth. When you become very proficient at viewing the human aura, you can see the aura around the entire body like a brightly glowing ever changing orb. However, this takes an extremely talented seer! Most people never develop enough skills to view the aura in this much depth.

When you first start out, you will probably only see the aura around the head and shoulders and the most likely first colours you will see will be green, gold, yellow, and blue, and occasionally purple. Do not strain too much to see more. Relax and enjoy the sensation of viewing the aura at all. When you strain, you tend to lose your concentration and not see clearly. If you simply observe calmly with no strain, you do begin to get better slowly, over time.
