Dagger

To dream of someone using dagger is a symbol of being stabbed in the back; to dream of yourself using it means you will betray someone.

Dance

Dreaming of dancing symbolizes joy and freedom – you are feeling unconstrained by life and are fully able to express yourself.  To dream of watching other people dancing, while you yourself stand on the sidelines, means you are feeling constricted and unable to enjoy yourself.

Danger

Dreaming of feeling as though you are in peril, even when there is nothing much to be afraid of in the actual dream, is a release of subconscious fears and anxiety.

Date

To dream that you are on a date, suggests that you are getting to know some hidden aspects of yourself. You are acknowledging your hidden talents. Alternatively, it may reflect your anxieties about dating or finding acceptance.

Dead

Dreaming that you die in some manner symbolizes change and transformation.  Part of you is now dead; but you have also grown, so part of you is now released.  Dreaming of your own death always signifies letting go of the old and embracing the new; moving forward, and letting go of those things which no longer serve you.  Dreaming that someone else is dead symbolizes either a death of a relationship with that person, or simply the changes in that person.

Decapitation

This dream symbolizes the term “losing your head”.  To dream that you get decapitated is depicting your fear of losing control; likewise to dream of someone else getting their head chopped off depicts the same fear about that person, that they will lose control in some way that will affect you.

Deformed

Dreaming that some part of your body has become deformed symbolizes that you are not seeing yourself as others do; you have low self esteem and are unable to see the real you.  Seeing someone else as deformed indicates that you aren’t seeing that person clearly either – you are biased against them.

Demons

Demons in dreams represent hidden feelings of hate, anger and negativity.

Dentist

If you dream of going to the dentist – you should probably consider going to the dentist in real life.

Devil

Dreaming of seeing or fearing the devil means that you fear “sinning” and getting punished for your “sins”.

Dirty

Seeing yourself covered in something that makes you dirty in a dream symbolizes that something you are doing in your waking life is making you feel low about yourself.  Seeing someone else dirty can symbolize your distrust of them.

Disability

To dream you are disabled means you are feeling unable to cope with something in your waking life.

Disaster

To have an overwhelming fear of disaster in a dream is a natural release of subconscious fears while in the dream state.

Disease

Dreaming that you are diseased in some manner symbolizes that you feel like a pariah in some way.  You don’t feel worthy of belonging or being part of society or a group.  Likewise seeing someone else diseased indicates you don’t feel they are worthy of the recognition they receive.

To see a dam in your dream, signifies repressed emotions or feelings that needs to be released. To dream of a bursting dam, denotes that you have lost control of your anger

Disguise

Being in a disguise as a dream means you are hiding in some way.  This could represent you actively deceiving someone or alternatively presenting yourself as someone you aren’t to seek approval.

Diving

To dream of diving into water symbolizes going deep within yourself to discover spiritual truths and growth.  Dreaming of skydiving or diving from a very vast height symbolizes freedom of thought and a very open mind.

Dragon

Dragons are a symbol of life and luck and are a good omen.

Dreams

Dreaming that you are dreaming – a dream within a dream, if you like – indicates that you are able to remember your dreams easily and interpret them to assist your life.  Many people who make a habit of lucid dreaming have a dream within a dream.

Drinking

Dreaming of drinking alcohol signifies that you are trying to escape reality or repercussions.

Drowning

To dream of drowning symbolizes a fear of being overcome by your emotions and “drowned” in them.  There is a general feeling of being out of control and panicking.
