Spiritual Connection And Learning

This is a card of religion, spirituality, and learning.  It indicates that a person is looking to a teacher or institution or church to teach them and guide them in these areas of their life.  It means that someone wants to grow spiritually and they are actively seeking ways in which to learn and grow.  The person may be taking religious instruction or spiritual guidance, or wish to do so.

It can also mean a person is studying something to help them on their life's path.  If they are learning in a school of any kind this card can appear in a reading.  It can be an indication that they should seek instruction or learning, if they are in fact not being schooled in any way or learning spiritual lessons.  If there is something they are very interested in doing that involves studying of some kind, this card could be urging them to take up those studies. 

The card can also appear when it is the querant who is the teacher, or if they have a desire to teach.       

Relationships

This card can indicate that a person is in this relationship to learn something, or that they have learned something from this person. 

Reversed

Reversed, the Heirophant indicates a person that is not learning the lessons they were meant to learn.  If they were at school this card could be a warning to them that they are failing or not doing as well as they could be.
