Emotional Action

The Knight Of Cups depicts a solid offer or opportunity of some kind, to do with love and emotions, and action taking place.  For example, someone might offer to take someone out, and then carry through by doing so.  There is nothing tentative about the Knight of Cups;  when he appears, he follows through with positive action.

The Knight of Cups appears in a reading to announce intentions of some sort, which are going to actively take place by the person with the intentions.  So for example, if someone had made up their mind they were going to absolutely do something, no matter what, then the Knight depicts this.

The Knight of Cups can also represent an actual person in a reading.  Only a very skilled reader can determine this;  so if the reader is in the beginning stages of learning the Tarot, its probably best to just decipher the meaning.  If the Knight is representing a person in the reading, it could be depicting an adult man in his mid twenties to mid thirties, as men in this age group are often shown as Knights in the Tarot.  The Knight can also depict a younger, very determined or mature man;  and the Knight can also depict a brother.  He would have fair skin, and light hair and eyes, and most likely be a water star sign.

Relationships

When the Knight of Cups appears in a relationship meaning, it depicts someone making a decision and taking firm action.  For example, the Knight can depict an offer to deepen a relationship, an offer of marriage, etc.  The Knight can represent a literal person in a relationship reading.

Reversed

The Knight of Cups reversed indicates a person who is unable to take positive action in their relationship, not necessarily because they want to, but because circumstances have made it so.  For example, if someone had made plans with a loved one but something occurred that made the plans impossible to carry out.
