What Is Numerology?

Dreamers Online recommends the following book to assist beginners in learning the art of numerology

Numerology:  The Complete Guide, Volume 1, by Matthew Oliver Goodwin

Numerology is the occult study of how numbers and how they can affect our lives.  Our of all the occults, Numerology is the easiest to do.  Its extremely effective to use in conjunction with other tools of divination. Each number has its own unique vibration and its believed by Numerologists that we choose our numeric vibration when we choose our spiritual path, or "blueprint", before we are incarnated in this life.

The History Of Numerology

Numerology can also be known as arithomancy or numeromancy.  No one knows the exact origins of the art, but there is evidence that early Egyptians, Babylonians, Chinese, and other ancient civilisations have put a great deal of importance in numbers.

The Greek philosopher Pythagoras who lived around 500 BC is thought to be responsible for the modern day numerology most use today - he is known as the "father" of numerology.  Pythagoras believed that all life and reality was based in mathematics.  His beliefs brought about a philosophical and religious movement called Pythagorism throughout Rome.

Types Of Numerology

There are three different kinds of numerology used today.  The Kabbalah,  the Chaldean, and the Pythagorean.  Each type calculates your personal number differently, so the results of each kind of numerology are different.  The Chaldean is thought you have originated in Ancient Babylon and used a number system of 1 - 8, basing the number system by sound.  The Kabbalah number system is based on the Hebrew alphabet;  it was later adapted for the Greek alphabet, and later again for the  Roman alphabet.  It only uses the birth name, and not the birth date.  The Pythagorean system assigns the number sequence on the Western alphabet and uses the numbers 1 - 9.  This is the system described on this internet site.

How Does Numerology Work?

There are many numerology combinations which give results for different areas of your life, such as the Destiny Number, the Life Path number, the Spiritual number, and so on.  Each reading is reached by a different number calculation;  for example, your Destiny number is your full birth name broken down to one digit;  your Life Path number is your birthday broken down to one digit; and so on.  There are however two numbers considered "master numbers" that are NOT broken down:  they are 11 and 22.

To get a full and complete overview of your life and your spiritual path, you should use a number of numerology calculations.

Learning Numerology

To learn Numerology effectively, you should read as many tutorials and books as possible on the subject.  Like most tools of divination, Numerology is meant to be used as a channel for your own psychic abilities.  An enhancement, a tool.  As you gain experience working with Numerology, you will begin to get your own "vibes" about the numbers and what they mean, and the kinds of combinations and readings that work best for you.  Simply taking down someone else's opinions about what the individual numbers mean is great fun and if that's all you want out of it, that's OK.

But if you truly wish to enhance your own psychic abilities then its not enough;  if your objective is to enhance your psychic readings with Numerology, then you truly need to "personalise" your experience and knowledge of the numbers.  In a way, you are pouring your own "magic" into them, imbuing them meanings that work for you in your readings.  The only way to do this is with hard work and earned experience.  As you gain experience, you may find that combining Numerology with other tools of divination is extremely effective.  Like a powerful "add-on"!  Most importantly of all, have fun.
