The Golden Tarot by Kat Black
Emotional Hopes And Dreams
When the Seven of Cups shows up in a person's reading, it represents their dearest, most cherished hopes. The card can be literally interpreted as "the dreamer". It pops up to let someone know that at the moment, they aren't grounded in reality. They are living in a fantasy world, or have romanticised someone or something. They are not seeing the issue at hand clearly; they could be biased, or simply refuse to see the truth in a situation if it doesn't suit them.
Sometimes it is very difficult to "come down from the clouds" and take a good hard look around us. This card is a clear warning that the person being read should come down - right now. They should stop wasting their time with unsubstantial dreams. Dreams are nice and we all need them - but if we start preferring them to reality, then we have a problem.
This card can represent a person's immaturity, or innocence, over people or situations; it could be that they are wearing "rose coloured glasses". The card can also tell of a deep sense of dissatisfaction that they are feeling at the moment, wishing things were other than they were.
To fully get a grasp on reality, they must first look within themselves and ask why they are living in a dream-world rather than reality. Only when they face the truth on a spiritual level can they face the truth on a physical and mental level.
Relationships
The Seven Of Cups in a relationship means that someone wishes things were differently than they were, so much so, that they have actually convinced themselves of it. They prefer to live in a fantasy land rather than see their partner as the human being with faults they actually are.
Reversed
When the Seven of Cups appears reversed, its a sign that someone has recently had a rude awakening to the truth of a situation; their rose coloured glasses have been ripped away from their eyes, the veil of fantasy or wish fulfilment lifted from their mind.
Suit Traits
The suite of Cups are represented by the element water.
The traits of cups are: Love, Emotions, Relationships, and Intuition.
The star signs of Cups are: Cancer, Pisces, Scorpio.
The physical traits of Cups are: Fair skin, fair hair, light eyes.
