SIMPLE 3 CARD SPREAD

This simple spread is great to do if you want a quick answer, basically a "yes" or "no".

Position One is The Past

THE 10 CARD CELTIC CROSS

Position Two is The Present

Position Three is The Future.

Position One:  The Heart Of The Issue

Position Two:  The Crossing Card (conflict)

Position Three:  The Root

Position Four:  The Past

Position Five:  The Crown

Position Six:  The Future

Position Seven:  Person asking question's attitude

Position Eight:  Opinions of friends and family

Position Nine:  Hope and fears

Position Ten:  Final Outcome

When reading the cards, its good to look at corresponding cards together to get a coherent look at the issue.  So, cards five and seven give a more in depth look at the crowning factors, and cards three and ten the final outcome.

If you turned over more than one Major Arcana card in a simple 3 card spread, this would be an indication that there is more you need to know about this situation and a more in-depth look is needed.

There are many different kinds of tarot card spreads, and its great fun to play around with them to find spreads that suit you.  Everybody is different and you will find certain spreads are more appealing to you;  stick to the ones you like to do.  The more complicated spreads are a bit hard to tackle for a beginner;  its best to work your way up to them as you become more skilled in the art of the tarot.  Some people find different spreads better for differing types of questions.  Some just like to stick with the one spread they prefer.  Its ok to do what feels comfortable for you.  The most important thing is to listen to your instincts.  This is only a tiny sample of popular spreads;  there are many more.  You are free to make your own, too!
