Sudden Change And Shock

When the Tower appears in a reading, it means something is going to happen very suddenly which will cause immediate change and shock.  This is not necessarily a negative thing, but in any case, it will certainly shake things up and be completely unexpected to the person concerned.  It may cause them to re-examine their beliefs or question what they thought they knew about something or someone.  It can literally "shake the foundations" in that it was so utterly and completely shocking and unexpected. 

Relationships

The Tower showing up in a relationship reading means something will occur which will shake the foundations of the relationship.  Revelations may take place, or a complete unexpected turn of events.  It can indicate the sudden collapse of a relationship. 

Reversed

The Tower reversed still indicates change or a shocking revelation of some kind, but it means that someone is blocking it in some way.  They are in denial of what has happened.  They refuse to accept the change in their life.  They wish things were the way they were before and feel that if they simply refuse to acknowledge what happened, then it will cease to be.  The Tower reversed is literally translated as "denial".
